About Us

If you’ve found yourself clicking our link, you’re probably a parent just like us or know someone who is a parent. We are new moms figuring out this mom thing together. We both have a passion for travel and wanted a way to make other families feel like traveling didn’t have to be so daunting with little ones.

We are here to help your family feel welcome in our small community. Whether exploring the tidepools or trekking up Juneau’s many trails, we hope to provide the best gear for you. Every item has been tested by us and used on our children.

We combined our love for camping and travel and decided to turn that into a business. Gear Up, Baby was created to help families enjoy the things we love to do most. We hope to support a broad audience of people such as:

  • families visiting Juneau for the first time

  • those who are home visiting

  • locals who want to try out a product before buying their own

  • parents who wish to take the afternoon to hike a mountain but don’t want to spend $300 on a new hiking backpack.

In addition, we hope to reach all ages of children and cater to a community lacking essential baby equipment. We can’t wait to see where this takes us and where our gear takes you
